Weaving Workshop
About the Workshop
This three-hour introductory workshop focuses on the process of weaving, rather than the final outcome, embracing both the delicate and complex nature of the craft. Working on our in-house designed table looms, participants will be guided through fundamental weaving techniques while experimenting with a range of materials.
The session is designed to spark creativity while offering insight into the intricacy of woven cloth. Alongside practical learning, the workshop explores storytelling within craft, drawing on traditional patterns, motifs, and symbols that carry meaning and narrative. Participants will be encouraged to develop their own visual language, creating patterns or symbols and integrating them into their work.
This workshop marks the beginning of our spring workshop series and will be followed by a more in-depth weaving session taking place in May.
The workshop will take place in our downstairs studio, surrounded by materials and samples.
